At The Shire – An East Texas Wedding

If I could dream up the most perfect boho Texas wedding venue, At The Shire would seriously be it! From the Tipis, to the wooded areas surrounding the entire venue, it is a boho-brides dream. The string lights all along the entryway is a nice touch, too.

I was seriously pinching myself when I got the opportunity to photograph Isabel & Fernando’s wedding day At The Shire. When I first looked it up on Google, I was so amazed! I had never seen a wedding venue and reception space inside of a Tipi. It was truly so unique, and as a wedding photographer and lover of all things boho, romantic, and unique, this wedding fit all of the criteria. Seriously one of my most favorite weddings to date.

The Space Itself

I thought that both the Bride and Groom’s getting ready areas had a cute aesthetic vibe and plenty of natural light, which made it great for getting ready photos. There was also plenty of space around each of the separate buildings. This meant, we got to knock out Groomsmen and Bridesmaids photos, without risking the couple seeing each other before the ceremony!

One thing to note about this venue, is that other than the getting-ready spaces, it is all outdoors! And because we are in East Texas, that mean it can be hot. Especially during the summer months. Thankfully, the entire reception area is air conditioned and under a Tipi, so there is a back-up plan in case it rains. (Which, you know if you’re in Texas, is totally unpredictable!)

As a wedding photographer, I seriously adored this venue and all of its uniqueness, and cannot wait until I can shoot here again!
