This past weekend, I traveled up to Bryan, Texas to photograph this beautiful wedding, celebrating Amber and Sam at The Astin Mansion. The overall theme for this wedding was “Colorful Garden Wedding” – and boy, did it deliver.
It was almost unreal to find out that the bride, Amber, planned and executed almost every single detail that you see in the photos. From the details in the flat lay, to the garden sculptures as centerpieces, the large board containing the seating arrangements. Ambers talent and creativity knows no bounds!
One of the biggest details that contributed greatly to the overall theme of “Colorful Garden”, was the floral arrangements. Rather than picking a 1-2 colors for the color scheme of the wedding, the couple went full on RAINBOW, which lent so much creativity to the amazing florists that worked this wedding. From the arch to the bridal bouquet, the color gradient and transitions was executed to perfection. I specifically also loved that each of the bridesmaids bouquets was an individual flower from the brides!! Everyone had a different flower with a different color, all matching their dresses.
I never thought I would see crystal chandeliers/candelabras as table centerpieces – but I was blown away by the beauty of it!! Each of these thrifted pieces really elevated the overall vibe for this colorful garden wedding and made it feel so elegant! The garden sculptures were also such an amazing touch. From baby cupid with his bow and arrow, to the podiums that held additional floral arrangements. Every detail that went into this wedding was perfection!
Something that I have really loved seeing lately, is couples using umbrellas and parasols as sun protection for their guests! There were baskets along the entrance of the ceremony site full of parasols for the guests to grab. Larger patio umbrellas were also placed in the reception site to cover the DJ and the bar staff! This detail was not only super useful and appreciated by guests and vendors, but also made for an aesthetic prop for photos. I highly recommend incorporating this into your wedding, especially if you are getting married in the Texas heat!
Astin Mansion was definitely the perfect venue for Amber and Sam’s colorful garden wedding. With the overall vibe being a brick colonial house with a bit of historic charm, it really felt like we were at home during this wedding! The ceremony even took place in the front yard of the house, while cocktail hour was inside, and the reception space spanning the entire backyard. The flowers and sculptures played a beautiful part in enhancing the garden vibe of this house. I couldn’t imagine a better location for this colorful garden wedding!
I went ahead and found the information that you’re dying to know – how much does it cost to get married here?! It looks like Astin Mansion has a package for everybody. From Ceremony-only package priced at $3,500, to their Legacy Package (which includes ceremony and reception) priced at $7,250! For this big and elegant of a wedding venue in Texas, this is such a steal. You can read more about their packages and pricing at this page on their website: Astin Mansion Wedding Packages
